Information We Collect

SchoolsByCounty does not collect personal information beyond standard web analytics (page views, referrers, browser type) via Google Analytics. We do not require account creation or any form of registration.

School Finder and Geocoding

The Find My School tool lets you enter an address or ZIP code to search for nearby public schools. When you use that feature, your query is sent to our geocoding API, which requests latitude and longitude coordinates from Nominatim, a service based on OpenStreetMap data.

We use the returned coordinates only to calculate nearby school results for that request. We do not use address or ZIP searches to create advertising profiles, and geocoding responses are served with no-store caching headers.

SchoolsByCounty is intended for adult research about public education data. Do not submit student names, child contact information, or other child personal information through the School Finder or contact forms.

This site uses cookies from the following services:

• Google Analytics — We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage patterns such as page views, referral sources, and browser types. Google Analytics sets cookies (including _ga and _gid) to distinguish unique visitors and sessions.
